Food and Nutrition

At The Glebe Centre, we know how important nutritious, enjoyable food is to our residents’ well-being. Our dedicated team provides a variety of meal options tailored to individual needs, cultural preferences, and dietary restrictions. With a focus on person-centered care, we aim to make every meal nourishing, familiar, and comforting.

Supporting Dietary Needs and Cultural Traditions

We encourage that if our menu does not meet your family members’ nutritional needs, culturally specific food and items can be brought into the home. Individualized menus can be developed by our team to accommodate dietary restrictions. We emphasize a person-centered care approach when meeting to care plan specific needs.

*Please note that as per our home policy, if items are brought into the home they should be dated and labelled with the person’s name including room number and will be kept in our servery fridge for 72 hours. This is to ensure food safety for those we serve.

Food Committee Meetings

Every final Monday of each month our food services team meets with residents following the Resident Council meeting for our Food Committee! This is a great opportunity to discuss, plan and receive feedback from the people who matter most. We offer special light refreshments and are appreciative of those who take the time to attend with an added plus to socialize a bit too. At these meetings we plan upcoming menus, suggest new menu items and even do taste panels. All our menus are approved by residents and are rolled out twice a year seasonally. Everyone is welcome so don’t be shy to join us!
