Freddy Vazquez

Supervisor, PSW

Freddy Vazquez completed his Bachelor of Arts and worked as a Director of Finance in New York City before relocating to Ottawa in 2012. With a long-standing interest in healthcare, he made the decision to return to school and became a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in 2016.

He gained experience working in various long-term care settings and, through continued education and professional development, became a Behavioural Support Ontario (BSO) specialist.  He also served as a coach, providing training in the Gentle Persuasive Approach. Freddy further expanded his impact by teaching laboratory classes for PSW students and contributing to a team at Mohawk College with a focus on revamping the PSW program.

Throughout his career, he has completed extensive training in dementia care and palliative care, culminating in earning his certification in palliative care in 2024.

Freddy joined The Glebe Centre in 2023, where he worked on Bankwood, describing it as a remarkable experience. In 2025, he advanced into the role of PSW Supervisor. In this position, he supports staff through education, mentorship, and leadership, while continuing to advocate for residents and their families.

Outside of work, Freddy enjoys playing volleyball, scary movies, traveling, and spending time with his spouse and their two cats, Luna and Napoleon.
