Members Council
What Is the Members Council?
The The Glebe Centre Community Programs Council is a group of members who advise on programs and policies that affect The Glebe Centre Community Programs members.
There are six meetings per year, typically held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am in September, November, January, March, and May. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in June (see the Members’ Board by Reception for details).
Council Structure
The Council is made up of an executive committee consisting of:
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Three Members-at-large
The President is responsible for reporting to the Glebe Centre Inc. regarding Council activities.
Terms of Office
- President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer: 2-year term
- Members-at-large: 3-year rotating term
All members are encouraged to get involved.
Purpose and Objectives
The Council exists to:
- Enhance the quality of life of members
- Foster and promote member interests
- Encourage social, mental, and physical well-being
- Recruit Ottawa-area seniors to become active members
- Support The Glebe Centre Community Programs through volunteerism and donations
- Work in alignment with the Glebe Centre’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Participate in Liaison Committees, where applicable
Membership Standing
Members are considered in good standing when their fees are paid in full.
Fees are due:
- Upon registration for winter programs, or
- On the first day The Glebe Centre Community Programs is open in the new year
