Hosted in support of Glebe Centre Community Programs at Abbotsford, the Garden Tour has quickly become one of our most important annual fundraising events. While Abbotsford is well known as a welcoming community hub for older adults, many people may not realize that our programs and services are not fully funded. Fundraising events like the Garden Tour help ensure we can continue offering meaningful, accessible, and engaging programs that support older adults in remaining active, connected, and living well in the community.

Last year, the Garden Tour raised close to $30,000. This year, thanks to the dedication of staff, volunteers, sponsors, and community members, we are on track to surpass that total and are hopeful we can reach $40,000.

None of this would be possible without the incredible hard work of our dedicated volunteers. From organizing gardens and welcoming guests, to promoting the event and connecting with local partners, volunteers are at the heart of the Garden Tour’s success. Their energy, creativity, and commitment reflect the very best of what Abbotsford represents: neighbours supporting neighbours.

We are also deeply grateful for the generous support of our community partners and sponsors. One long-time supporter is Renu Pillay of Whole Health Compounding Pharmacy, who has supported the Abbotsford Garden Tour for three years running. As a private pharmacy located right here in the Glebe, Renu’s continued commitment is a wonderful example of local businesses investing directly in the wellbeing of their community.

This year, we are excited to welcome a new sponsor, Peter Knippel Garden Centre. In addition to supporting the Garden Tour through sponsorship, Peter Knippel Garden Centre will host a pop-up plant sale in the parking lot of the Abbotsford Seniors Centre at 950 Bank Street across from Lansdowne from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors can shop a beautiful selection of annuals, perennials, and flowering baskets while enjoying the garden tour. Be sure to stop by and take home something special for your garden or patio.

The Abbotsford Garden Tour is more than a fundraiser. It is a reminder of what can happen when staff, volunteers, local businesses, and community members come together around a shared purpose. Every ticket purchased, every sponsorship received, and every hour volunteered helps strengthen the programs and services that support older adults in our community.

We are grateful to everyone who continues to make this event possible and look forward to welcoming the community to another beautiful and inspiring Garden Tour.

Tickets are $35 and include access to all 12 gardens. Advance purchase is recommended.  Find out more about the Abbotsford Garden tour and where/how to buy tickets!
