We will have approximately 50 volunteers in that day to ensure that you have an opportunity to find the perfect gift, make a friend with the most adorable hand made Teddy Bear you can imagine, and sit down for lunch or tea and dessert with a friend.
Two groups of volunteers work throughout the year to produce lovely, unique handmade items for this one-day sale. Mark your calendars and don’t miss this special day (Saturday, November 28th from 10 am – 2 pm) when the Teddy Bears come out to play and all the other handcrafted items are displayed in their full splendour.
The Teddy Bear Group has been creating hand- sewn bears for over 30 years, with hundreds finding their special homes with children and adults alike. One generation of crafters has taught the next how to create these beautiful bears, each one an individual waiting to join their ‘forever home’!
The Craft Group, like the Teddy Bear Group, formed many years ago with the aim of raising funds for Abbotsford Seniors Centre Programming and Services. They have been doing so for over 50 years. Our volunteers have come up with incredibly creative, quality craft items year after year, sharing ideas and skills with one another while also creating a sense of community within Abbotsford.
If this isn’t enough to tempt you, we have a few more gift ideas including handmade pottery from our Pottery Studio. Abbotsford has many clever and talented members who share their creative energy and wares with us.
Then there is the Bake Sale! Our membership pulls out the stops for their holiday baking. You will find deliciousness overflowing at the bake table including dozens of freshly frozen homemade apple pies. Bake them the day you buy them or keep them frozen for that special occasion; either way is a scrumptious bonanza.
We all need a moment to relax and enjoy the holiday season. This is a relaxed if special day at Abbotsford. You can come into the Tea Room for very reasonably priced lunch and dessert items. Have lunch with friends or family, or relax over tea, coffee and dessert. Enjoy the ambiance with the help of our exceptional volunteers.
A shout out to our sponsors Villagia in The Glebe Retirement Community and Glebe Metro for supporting this event.
It is a FREE event to attend but you will be tempted as soon as you are greeted at our door. Abbotsford has a wide range of goods for sale all year round, including previously owned books, flea market items, jewelry and women’s clothing. We really do have something for everyone.
If for some reason you are not able to attend on Saturday, November 28th, do not despair; we have you covered.
Our mini craft sale offers many beautiful items for you to buy right up until Friday, December 18th. We have so many beautiful goods and we want everyone to find the perfect gift and specialty item. Come one, come all and support seniors living in the community.
