Abbotsford Garden Tour – Frequently Asked Questions
The Abbotsford Garden Tour is a self-guided tour of private gardens that invites visitors to explore inspiring outdoor spaces while supporting Abbotsford Centre seniors’ programs. The tour celebrates creativity, sustainability, and community connection through gardening.
The 2026 Garden Tour takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026 (10:00 – 4:00)
Gardens are located in the Glebe and Westboro neighbourhoods of Ottawa. Garden addresses are shared with ticket holders via a printed guide and map.
The tour is self-guided. Ticket holders are provided with the garden addresses and may visit them in any order and at their own pace during tour hours. Volunteers and garden hosts are present in each garden to welcome visitors and answer questions.
The 2026 event features 12 thoughtfully curated gardens, each selected for its distinctive style, creativity, and inspiration, offering a rich and rewarding experience at a relaxed pace.
The tour includes a diverse mix of gardens -large and small, formal and informal -with highlights such as native and pollinator-friendly plantings, sustainable practices, creative urban solutions, and distinctive design elements.
Your $35 ticket includes:
Access to all 12 featured gardens
A printed guide and map
A wildflower seed wristband that serves as your entry pass and can be planted after the event
Complimentary refreshments at designated sponsor locations
Entry into a draw for a free garden design consultation
Your ticket also includes access to the air-conditioned café at the Abbotsford Centre - a welcome spot to relax and enjoy light refreshments. Be sure to visit the on-site plant sale as well, featuring a selection of garden plants and horticultural finds available for purchase.
Ticket holders need to pick up their wristband along with their printed guide and map at Abbotsford Centre in the Glebe (950 Bank Street, across from Landsdowne) from June 13 - 20. Tickets go on sale in late April both online and in-person at Abbotsford Centre.
Accessibility varies by garden as these are private residential spaces. Details about terrain, steps, or other considerations will be noted in the printed guide wherever possible.
The Garden Tour takes place rain or shine. We recommend dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable walking shoes.
Complimentary refreshments with washroom facilities are available at sponsor locations noted in the tour guide. Additional seating and rest opportunities vary by garden.
To help ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors and garden hosts, the Garden Tour is designed as an adult experience. We appreciate your understanding as these are private residential spaces with varied terrain and delicate plantings.
While photography is welcome for personal use, we do ask visitors to be respectful of private property and the privacy of homeowners and neighbours.
All proceeds support Abbotsford Seniors Centre, a trusted provider of community-based programs and services for Ottawa’s seniors. Last year’s Garden Tour raised over $30,000, directly benefiting more than 1,200 clients and their families.
For over 50 years, Abbotsford has offered a wide range of programs that support physical wellness, creative expression, lifelong learning, and social connection for its members.
All programs are delivered under the established governance and oversight of The Glebe Centre.
Sponsorship opportunities include financial support, in-kind contributions, and hosted refreshment locations. Four sponsorship levels are available to offer meaningful visibility, strong community alignment, and direct engagement with attendees.
Additional opportunities include making a leadership or private donation, volunteering at the event or participating as a future garden host.
