Introduction
This Emergency Action Plan (EAP) establishes guidelines for all reasonably foreseeable long-term care emergencies. Because each emergency situation involves unique circumstances, the guidelines provide general guidance only. Decisions and actions based on a situation assessment are always required when responding to emergencies. It is also worthwhile to note that these guidelines do not necessarily represent a sequential series of steps.
The expanding challenge of preparing for public health emergencies, whether caused by natural disasters, influenza or other pandemics, has resulted in a recommended hazard approach to planning. This type of planning prepares The Glebe Centre to respond to a wide range of unpredictable incidents and emergencies. It is an effective first step in emergency preparedness planning.
