Day Away Programs

Two specialized day away programs are offered: Dementia Adult Day Program and the Luncheon Club. The benefits of these programs include:

  • hours of respite for the participants’ family or caregiver
  • a safe and supportive environment
  • individual attention and activities geared toward participants’ interests
  • a high ratio of staff and volunteers to participants

Dementia Adult Day Program

This program operates Wednesday through Friday and consists of social and recreational activities for those living with early to middle stages of dementia related challenges and includes snacks, nutritious meals, minimal personal support, physical exercise, music, social interactions, mental stimulation, and may include transportation. The Luncheon Club

This program operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and consists of social and recreational activities for seniors who may be at risk of isolation or may require a little extra encouragement to participate in activities. The club includes lunch or purchase of lunch while at local venues; health promotion; peer support; and may include transportation if needed. Members of this club enjoy outings in the community which may include shopping, picnics or visiting local venues of interest. Some activities are done by a telephone, conferencing platform.
